Adolescence is often accompanied by changes in behaviour and attitudes that require a certain transformation and rethinking of the relationship between parents and children. Children begin a process of disengagement from the family in search of new spaces for interpersonal relationships, and parents gradually grant increasing autonomy in decision making and responsibilities. The widespread belief that adolescence is a particularly difficult stage of life stems precisely from the fact that these changes are sufficiently intense to provoke situations of conflict and family tension.
